****************COMMUNICATION CORNER**********************

From Carol Simpson, SBUF President:  Here is what I received from the District:

Dear PSWD Congregational Presidents:

The numbers of lives lost in Asia is incomprehensible and as the year ends, once again we are called on to deal with tragedy. In case you have not gotten the word I wanted to let you know that the UUA has joined with the UUSC to raise money for the Tsunami Relief -- I am sure many of your congregations will be taking collections over the next couple of weeks here is the information on where to send the money if you want it to go through a UU source:

Donations can be made through the UU Service Committee's website, or checks may be made out to 'UUSC,' noting that the donation is for Tsunami Relief in the memo box.

Checks can be mailed to:    Tsunami Relief Fund

                                          UU Service Committee

                                          130 Prospect Street

                                          Cambridge, MA 02139

Thanks for your efforts,

Ken

(UUSC is the UU Service Committee.  You can be sure that your donation will count with this organization.  Call Penny if you have any questions or go to website http://uusc.org for info.)

From Peter Landecker:

If you check your January-February 2005 UU World magazine, on page 2 we are listed as a James Luther Adams Congregation (Recognizes congregations that support UUSC through a line item gift from their annual budget of at least $1 per member), and on page 4 we are listed as a Vision of Justice Banner Society (Honors congregations in which 50-90 percent of the membership are UUSC members). Congratulations!!
