                                         SUNDAY PROGRAMS

June 27 – ANTARCTICA!    Peter Landecker and Lenore Snodey will present the video portion of their  recent adventure visiting Antarctica and southern South America (Argentina, Falkland Islands of UK, Chile, Uruguay). They will project a beautiful video of icebergs, mountains, glaciers, penguins and seals which they made. They also visited members of an Argentine Unitarian Fellowship. Claire Aukerman and Irma Cohen were also on this Princess cruise and will share their experiences as well.  Claire Aukerman will moderate.

July 4 – CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE, VALUE FREEDOM, SEEK JUSTICE, HONOR DIVERSITY.   PRAY FOR PEACE AND KEEP HOPE IN YOUR HEART

             (NO MEETING AT MATHEWS COTTAGE.)

July 11 – SUMMER POTLUCK    Linda Klein and Bob Johnson have invited us to their home in El Segundo for a Fellowship Potluck.  Dinner at 4:00 p.m.  Bob will be cooking on the patio; it is up to the rest of us to bring vegetables, salads, and deserts.  Linda would like to know if you are coming and what kind of dish you plan to bring.  Call Bob or Linda .

July 18 – LIVING “IN CHARACTER”   So what is this about?  Come and hear what our speaker Rev. Jonathon Dobrer (U.U. Minister of Fullerton) has to say.  Jon has taught Islam, its origins and beliefs, both at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley and as Professor at the University of Judaism.  He writes a syndicated column called “Out of My Mind.” Dobrer was selected by the Los Angeles Times as one of the ten most compelling speakers in Southern California.  This no doubt is owed to having worked his way through USC as a stand up comedian.  Penny Hendricks will moderate.

July 25 – GOOGLE THIS!!!     Consumer Watchdog has been described by technology website, The Register, as "the notorious thorn in Google's side."  John Simpson will talk about his public interest group's efforts to hold the Internet giant accountable and how the group's activities led to an effort by Google to threaten its charitable funding.  John will moderate the discussion.
