                                               SUNDAY PROGRAMS

June 2 – IN THE NEWS      Come prepared to discuss what's in the news or what's on your mind. Carol Simpson will moderate.

June 9FARMING AND LIFE IN SOUTHERN INDIA   This presentation will show data from India and other "monsoon countries” on current practices and proposed agriculture changes. Some personal pictures of a visit to Southern India and the stories behind them are included.  We have a speaker and Penny will moderate.

June 16 – WHY GOD WON’T GO AWAY   This book may change your mind about religion…because it creates common ground for thought and conversation about spiritual life.  Few investigators have been able to match the authors research on the neurological basis of religious experience.  Lloyd Drum brings us this DVD program regarding brain science and religious belief.  Penny will moderate.

June 23 – WHAT ON EARTH IS THE ACA?    Have you been reading and hearing about the ACA recently?  At best the information presented in the media is confusing and conflicting.  It has been very politicized and is quite controversial.  So exactly what is it and how will it affect each of us?  Join Ronda Thomas, MA, Client Resource Specialist at Beach Cities Health District in a discussion about the legislation.  Learn how the State of California is implementing it, how it will impact medical care locally, and some of the other issues surrounding the ACA.     Penny Hendricks will moderate.

June 30   Potluck and General Meeting at the Klein-Johnson's:  Sunday, at  3:00 p.m.  (note earlier time). Please RSVP and let them know what dish you will be bringing.
