Emerson said that “only so far as people are unsettled is there any hope for us”  There is something sacred in this feeling uncomfortable.  The unease serves as a bell of awareness, ringing alarm that the world is not as it should be.

                                               SUNDAY PROGRAMS

May 6 – Bill Maher welcomes guests -- Historian Jon Meacham; Stockton, California, Mayor Michael Tubbs; national security expert Michael Hayden; political commentator Sally Kohn; editor Matt Welch. Show originally aired on May 4, 2108.

May 13 – HAPPY MOTHERS’ DAY - SHARING THE GIFTS THEY HAVE GIVEN US     One of the best parts of this day are the memories that we have.  Who was your mother and how did she influence your life?   Penny Hendricks will lead the program.

May 20 – WEAVING WORDS    Come to share a favorite poem, and your thoughts about what it expresses. Share poems of others or your own poetry.  Come to listen and enjoy.  Lorna McClellan will lead this program.

May 27 –WHEN WILL THEY EVER LEARN?  Insights from UU Rev. Jon Dobrer   How do we keep hope alive?  It feels like people keep jumping ship—either that, or someone forces them to “walk the plank” and quit.  Words like “integrity”, or “respect” don’t even enter the mind any more.  Penny will lead the program.

June 3 – LET’S TALK BALLOT – PRIMARY ON JUNE 5, 2018  John Simpson will help us understand the technicalities of the obscure propositions and warn us about any questionable judges.
