                                               SUNDAY PROGRAMS   

April 7 – WEAVING WORDS    Come to share a favorite poem, and your thoughts about what it expresses, ..Share poems of others or your own poetry.  Come to listen and enjoy.  Lorna McClellan will lead this program.

 

 

April 14 passover and easter: 2 faiths, sharing a holy week  Unitarian Universalist Rev. Jon Dobrer, a Starr King and Theological Union graduate, served the UU Church in Fullerton from 1993-2014.  Jon continues teaching, doing columns for newsgroups, newspapers and writing about our world.  We welcome Jon again.  Penny will moderate.

 

 

April 21 – a trip to south AND CENTRAL america    With Peter Landecker and Sue Cutler. They returned last month from a wonderful and interesting home stay in Santiago, Chile followed by a cruise back to Los Angeles. We visited a marine sanctuary in Peru and a cloud forest in Costa Rica. A highlight of the trip back for Peter was a Scuba dive in a volcanic crater in Nicaragua. Beautiful images will illustrate this adventure story. 

 

April 28 – BILL MAHER INTERVIEWS ADAM SCHIFF and has a panel discussion
with political analysts John Avlon and Zerlina Maxwell and tax-reform advocate
Grover Norquist. Sportscaster Bob Costas joins the discussion later.

*****ATTENTION: For Openers and Refreshment Persons:  *********************

OPENERS arrive at 10:30 a.m., unlock doors, cabinet, put out signs, put on tablecloths, make the coffee, start water, set up cups, coffee, etc. for the refreshments.  Please display the fellowship candle on the circular table.  Place the Guest Book, name tags, and offering basket on the long table.

REFRESHMENTS need to arrive by 11:00 a.m.  Please arrange a trade if you cannot attend or clean up on the day assigned.  When you bring refreshments, it is your turn to be responsible for the clean up of the entire refreshment table including the coffee, water, tablecloths and supplies.  If you need help, just ask.

If you cannot bring refreshments on the date listed in the newsletter, you may call someone and trade with them for another date that will be more convenient for you.

How do I become a member of the South Bay Unitarian Fellowship?  Membership is open to all persons 15 years of age or older who sign a membership card expressing agreement with the purpose of the Fellowship.  Members become eligible to vote and hold office three months after signing membership cards.  Members are expected to participate in SBUF activities and to provide a helping hand and financial support when needed and are able to do so.  

 

SBUF Programs   If there is a particular topic you would like to see presented on a Sunday morning, or an organization you want to know more about, or a good book you would like to share, or any other ideas for Sunday morning programs, please call Penny Hendricks. Your input is valuable!  Thank you for your help.
